How to regrow hair is a concern for most men and women who have experienced thinning or balding. There are many baldness remedies promoted but none seem to live up the promise of hair regrowth. Other hair regrowth options such as laser treatments and laser combs are not much better than the empty promises of herbal hair loss treatments. Hair transplant surgery, it seems, is still the only viable and permanent solution to hair loss.

Regrowing hair faster is not an issue, MSM will do that, but it does not regrow your hair. Hair loss drugs, are somewhat effective. Propecia for instance is known to grow hair on the crown and some do experience minor hair growth with Minoxidil (Rogaine). The reality is that most products do little or nothing to regrow hair. Hair loss sufferers need to learn the Myths of Hair Regrowth, prior to making purchases of some widely marketed hair growth product. If this research is not done, the only winners in this quest are the sellers. Caveat Emptor!

For hundreds of years, Ginseng has been used in the Asia as a baldness remedy. Ginseng is said to possess properties that help the body fight the effects of stress. It is used as a baldness remedy because proponents believe it to be a 5-Alpha Reductase inhibitor. 5-Alpha Reductase is an enzyme produced in the prostate, adrenal glands and scalp that converts the hormone testosterone into Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, the androgen that is the leading cause of pattern baldness.

Is thought to block the action of dehydrotestosterone (DHT), the androgen that causes baldness. Pygeum aficanum is a type of evergreen that grows in Africa. Like Saw Palmetto, it is a benefit to men suffering Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate as it can help reduce the frequency of night time urination. As a herbal baldness remedy, Pygeum has not been the subject of reliable studies and there is no scientific evidence to suggest that it is, in fact, a cure for baldness, yet it is often used by herbalists slow or stop baldness.

Ginkgo has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years as an overall restorative and baldness remedy. Some herbalists believe Ginkgo promotes blood circulation, helping to carry nutrients through the body. Though every system of the body can be affected by poor circulation and a lack of nutrients, these are not the causes of pattern baldness. Most baldness is caused by the action of Dehydrotestosterone (DHT), which miniaturizes hair until the follicle no longer produces hair.
